Apple Mitarbeiter Papermaster wegen iPhone 4 Antenne gekündigt?

Das iPhone 4 ist bekanntlich das erfolgreichste iPhone überhaupt und von den Verkaufszahlen her ein riesen Erfolg für Apple. Tatsächlich hat noch immer nicht jeder ein iPhone 4, da Apple einfach nicht mit der Produktion hinterher kommt, die Nachfrage ist eben so hoch. Auch wenn das iPhone 4 so erfolgreich ist, gibt es doch ein paar Probleme mit dem neuen Smartphone von Apple. Die weiße Version lässt noch auf sich warten, aber das ist nicht wirklich ein Problem. Schlimmer ist hingegen die Antenne, die man mit dem sogenannten „Todesgriff“ beeinflussen kann. Nur deshalb hatte Apple schon ein Presse Event gestartet und verschickt jetzt Millionen iPhone 4 Hüllen kostenlos an jeden, der schon ein iPhone 4 gekauft und entsprechend einen Antrag gestellt hat. Natürlich hat das Problem mit der Antenne, das ja eigentlich nicht ganz so tragisch ist, auch personelle Konsequenzen.
Mark Papermaster wird Apple verlassen, wohl wegen der Antenne am iPhone 4. Er war bei Apple hauptsächlich für die iPods, iPhones und das iPad verantwortlich, sein genauer Titel war „Senior Vice President for Devices Hardware Engineering“ – also trug er letztendlich auch für die Antenne die Verantwortung. Auch wenn das iPhone 4 so erfolgreich war, verlässt er Apple nun. Es ist nicht ganz sicher, ob er freiwillig gekündigt oder Apple ihm wegen der Antenne gekündigt hat. Letzteres ist aber wohl am wahrscheinlichsten, immerhin hat auch die New York Times schon darüber berichtet.
Mark Papermaster war noch gar nicht so lange bei Apple, sondern ist erst 2008 dazu gestoßen. Er war vorher VP beim Computer Riesen IBM, die ihn nicht ganz so einfach zu Apple gehen lassen wollten, was aber ohne Gericht geklärt wurde. Wer ihn jetzt bei Apple ersetzen wird ist unbekannt, aber bekanntlich arbeiten dort genug talentierte Leute.

… I was “lucky”, as I run into a Starhub store on Saturday morning that just got some supply of the new iPhone 4. Bought it for my wife and spend more than a whole day to try to get my music copied from my pc via itunes to the iPhone 4. I reinstalled the phone software 5 times, resintalled itunes 3 times, used 3 different PCs… doesnt work! According to web blogs I am not the only one with this problem…. Apple service hotline in Singapore refered me to go back to the third party shop (yes, where they have no clue about the technics of iPhone 4 and where they have no phone on stock…). Apple does not even have a service center in Singapore!
My recommendation after the last 3 days with my new iPhone 4: Dont buy this bloody crap, Apple has grown to quick, their products are no longer what they used to be and have problems all over and the service is a total disaster! I am very angry that I did spent so much time trying to fix this bloddy new phone and it still not works… I wish I have bought a Samsung! Thought about buying the iPad as well, but sorry Steve, I guess apple needs to do its homework first before thoring things to the market that do not work!!!!
